Bill Macy

Bill Macy died last week.  He's best known as Maude's husband on the 70's Normal Lear sitcom.

I'm disappointed that neither the New York Times nor the Washington Post mentioned Macy's role in "My Favorite Year" in their obituaries.

They didn't.  I will.

Macy played Sy Benson, the head writer of the fictional "Comedy Cavalcade."  He was bossy to everyone, except the star of the Cavalcade, King Kaiser.  Macy did a great job in a relatively minor role.

Bill Macy was 97.
